The S3 and S5/6 Geography students visited Glasgow this week as part of their Urban studies unit. The pupils study Glasgow as their case study for National and Higher Geography and the trip allows them to experience the things they have been learning about in class. The group visited Braehead to learn more about out-of-town shopping centres and then visited the Riverside Museum to learn about transport and congestion in Glasgow. The group then visited the winter markets in George square to find out how the city is trying to attract shoppers back to the city centre. They ended with a guided bus tour showing the regeneration of the Gorbals and Easterhouse. The trip was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
