Our extensive supported study programme for senior students will continue until the end of term. Students in S4-6 are encouraged to attend these very valuable classes.
All senior students will receive progress reports before the end of term to support their revision before the Prelim examinations in January.
Religious Observance Assemblies
Many thanks to everyone involved in our extended Chaplaincy Team for organising and delivering presentations at our Year Group assemblies this week. Everyone on the team took part and the presentations were very well received by our pupils. The team are currently working with staff in the RE department to prepare for our Christmas service on 22nd December.
St Andrew’s Hospice
We are delighted that one of our S4 pupils Jamie McCallum, took it upon himself to organise a cake sale in aid of St Andrew’s Hospice and raised over £51. Due to his impressive motivation and dedication towards the charity St Andrew’s Hospice visited the school on Monday morning to congratulate Jamie and collect the cheque. We are incredibly proud of Jamie’s personal achievement and he has been invited to visit the Hospice next week to meet some of the staff.
Many thanks to all of our staff, led by Mr Willie Davidson, who participated in this very worthwhile fundraising initiative for men’s health charities. Yet again it was a great success.
The Bellshill Barbarians had another great win on Tuesday after school against Taylor High. Well done to all of the boys involved.
Preparations for the concert on Wednesday 10th December are well under way. The vocal group have been practicing on Monday during lunchtime and Wednesday after school in preparation for the concert. Tickets are currently on sale from the Music department.
A large group of Academy students performed in North Lanarkshire Council’s Christmas Concert on Monday 1st December. 2 of the pupils also played the bagpipes at Mossend Primary School as part of the school’s St Andrew’s Day celebrations. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
