Chick mania hits the Science Department !!!
There were new arrivals at Bellshill Academy last week in the form of 9 newly born chicks. This is the second time in the past twelve months that chicks have been brought into the department with the help of the Science Department. This was made possible by the fantastic support of both pupils and staff who raised money for the eggs themselves and the equipment needed to safely house the chicks. This money was raised through a Chick Cafe and Cake Stall. The eggs were delivered last Monday, 15th February, and the first chick hatched on Wednesday morning. The other eight followed throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday. This has generated a great deal of excitement throughout the school and all pupils and staff have enjoyed visiting the chicks, and learning about them in Miss Kelly’s Science and Biology classes.

The climb is on Tuesday 24th May and as there are limited spaces available pupils should sign up as quickly as possible to avoid missing a fantastic and very worthwhile day.
