Christmas Concert and Christmas Market

Our Christmas Concert will take place in the Academy at 7.30pm on Thursday 10th  December. In addition to our wonderful musical performances, parents and carers will also be treated to performances from our dance group and the staff choir and staff band. Tickets are still available from the school office.

On the same evening Bellshill Academy’s Christmas Winter Market Shopping event will take place from 6pm. We hope that as many members of the local community as possible will support this event and visit our wide range of stalls selling handmade wares including: Jams, Chutneys, Christmas Cards, Decorations, Jewellery, Candles and much more.

Primary Transition Programme

This week Head Teachers and senior staff from Lawmuir, Mossend and Noble Primary Schools met with Mrs McGraw and Miss McCormick from the Art department to plan for our Transition art project which will begin in the new term.

Throughout this week we have been delighted to welcome members of our Chaplaincy Team to the school to lead our year group assemblies.
Exam Revision Clinics

We would encourage as many of our senior students as possible to make good use of our exam revision clinics in the run up to our Prelim examinations which are scheduled to take place from 18/1/2016 – 29/1/2016.

Over the next few weeks there will be a House Competition taking place which will give pupils the opportunity to win House points. We are encouraging pupils to bring in non-perishable items which we will donate to a local foodbank to help people in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. House Captains will give out cards at tutor time which have a list of food we are looking for. The competition will run from 2nd December – 18th December, and the house which collects the most food will win the most points!

As a school we have made a brilliant effort to raise money for a variety of charities so far! Let’s make a big effort to help others in need, especially as it comes closer to Christmas! If you would like any more information please come and see Miss Simonini or Mr Clark in the P.E Department!
