St Andrew’s Hospice Fun Run
Staff and senior students had a fantastic day on Sunday 20th September at the St Andrew’s Hospice 6K fun in Strathclyde Park, beginning at 10:30am. A huge thanks to Miss Simonini and Mr Clark for organising our involvement in the race.

St Andrew’s Bake Sale
The St Andrew’s Ambassadors held a bake sale during interval on Tuesday 22nd September to raise funds for the Hospice. Thanks to staff and students for their wonderful donations.

Non-uniform day
Senior students organised a non- uniform day on Wednesday 23rd September for school funds. The day was a great success.

Music Success
Children in Need Choir
All of our S3/4 singers who were auditioned and filmed last week for the BBC Children in Need Choir have been successful in getting places in the choir. Well done to all

Scottish Learning Festival
We were delighted that two of our students Cameron Clelland and Craig Peters were invited to perform with the North Lanarkshire Schools’ Pipe Band at the Scottish Learning Festival on Wednesday 23 September 2015. The Band played to welcome the Cabinet Minister before her keynote address.

Educational Visit
On Tuesday 22nd September we were delighted to welcome 3 Head Teachers from schools in Holland to the Academy. Our guests were visiting North Lanarkshire as part of a study visit to look at leadership in Scottish schools. Staff and senior students delivered a range of presentations to our guests and the visit was a great success.

Student Council
Our Student Council for this session is now in place and we are delighted to include our new members from S1.Council For Press

UCAS Evening
We held a very successful parent information evening on Wednesday 23rd September in our Jura Suite. The focus of the presentation was ‘Preparing for University’. Colleagues from the University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow University spoke to parents and students about UCAS applications, and a representative from SAS provided guidance on the Student Awards Scheme.

Senior Reports
All students in S4, 5 and 6 received their first report of the session this week. Pupils in S1- 3 will be issued with their reports just after the October holiday.

Study Support Programme
Our extensive after school Study Support programme is available to pupils in S4-6. We would encourage all pupils preparing for SQA examinations to make full use of this programme and to attend classes offered by our very experienced staff.
