Last week we held our annual Health Week organised by Mrs Anderson Principal Teacher of PE. The week was packed with events and activities for all year groups and we would like to thank everyone in the community who supported the event by delivering presentations including our Community Police and a team of staff from the YMCA. Pupils were took part in activities about Online Safety; Relaxation and stress management; Healthy Choices and Growth Mindset. School Captains and House Captains organised activities with our local Sporting Memories Dementia Group. This was a fantastic week and our thanks go to Mrs Anderson for ensuring that everyone had a great experience and to our catering staff for providing a great choice of healthy food options and samples for all of pupils to try.
Our senior boys were delighted to present a cheques for £917.35 to the Samaritans The money was raised following a charity football match organised by the boys. They are pictured presenting the cheque to Dennis and Norman from the Glasgow branch.
Well done to our S6 Higher Leadership students who organised a fantastic
Halloween Disco for our S1 and S2 pupils on Wednesday 26th October. The disco was a great success with our own School Captain Aaron Clark acting as DJ. Prizes were awarded for the best costumes, and everyone involved had a great time.
Our Parent Council members were treated to an outstanding presentation on Monday evening from two of our School Captains who took part in a visit to Malawi in June. Robyn Gardiner and Aaron Clark delivered an emotional presentation highlighting their experience and the huge amount of work done to raise money to support a range of projects in Malawi. Miss Ainslie our PT Nurture, who was one of the organisers of the trip also spoke to parents about the experience. Our Parent Council are looking at ways to continue to support our partner school in Malawi.
