P7 Open Evening
Bellshill Academy hosted its annual P7 Open Evening Tuesday 6th September. There was an excellent turn out to the event where parents and pupils of our Associated Primaries had the opportunity to see our new dance, fitness, art and science facilities. The night was a great success and the school would like to thank all the P7 pupils and parents for coming along and for giving such positive feedback. As always the Head Teachers and senior staff from Lawmuir, Mossend and Noble Primary Schools attended the event which was the formal launch of our P7 into S1 transition programme.
Charity Football Event
Bellshill Academy took part in a charity football event on Wednesday 9th September. The tournament was held to raise awareness of suicide in North Lanarkshire and Scotland. The Academy managed to field two teams, one of which made it to the final of the tournament only to be beaten and claim second place. The quality of football on show was only eclipsed by the spirit of the pupils and pro footballers taking part. Well done to everyone involved.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3.45-4.30pm the Support Base will be open to pupils who would like a quiet space, access to resources and some help, in completing their homework or for somewhere to study. Help can also be given on relaxation techniques, stress management, advice on creating a study timetable and with learning different study/revision techniques that pupils can then use at home. Pupils do not need to stay for the full 45 minutes and can pop in and out as they please. Pupils can also bring a drink and a snack. The HUB is open to all year groups.
