New construction skills academy opened

 

Skills Academy 8Young apprentices given the opportunity to learn from leading industry experts.

North Lanarkshire’s talented young apprentices have a place to polish their skills and develop their careers in the new NL Construction Crafts Skills Academy.

The new construction academy is aimed creating opportunities for pupils to move directly into employment, college and training.

It will be open to all senior pupils from schools across North Lanarkshire and will be based on the Bellshill Academy campus.

TransitionParents-P7 Transition Coffee Morning
Many thanks to the large number parents and carers of P7 pupils who attended our transition coffee morning on Wednesday 28th January. The event which was organised by Mr John Johnston, DHT, was a great success. Parents and carers had the opportunity to hear presentations form our School Captains and S1 pupils being treated to tea and coffee prepared and served by our 4XL students. Our S1 choir performed some Burns songs which they had prepared as part of our Burns celebrations and the morning ended with senior students conducting a tour of the school. Feedback from parents and carers was excellent and we plan to make this event an annual feature as part of our Transition Programme.

DIGITAL CAMERAChristmas Concert
Our Christmas Concert took place on Wednesday 10th December and was a fantastic success. More than 100 pupils performed and a packed audience was treated to festive music from our singers, our band and drama performances form our Masterclass students. The audience were also delighted with stunning performances from our Dance students and our staff choir. A huge thanks to our Music and PE staff for preparing the pupils for the concert and to our parents and invited guests for the tremendous support they gave to all our performers.
