  • Arran
  • Iona
  • Lewis

Pupil Support teachers will inform all pupils of their new House groups this week.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the survey. We will of course look at ways to ensure our existing names of Douglas, Milnwood, Orbiston and Woodhall still remain a key feature of Bellshill Academy.

Primary 7 Debating Workshops

As part of the excellent programme of events arranged for the transition from Primary to Bellshill Academy, the Support for Learning Department invited the P7s from our local primaries to come up to the Academy for their own Debating Workshops. On Thursday 29th May we welcomed all of the P7s from Noble and New Stevenston Primary Schools; on Friday 30th May we welcomed P7 pupils from Mossend Primary and on Monday 2nd June, we welcomed P7 pupils from Lawmuir Primary.

S3 pupils, Aaron Clark, Conner McCall, Abby Cairney, Megan Finlay, Cara Jackson and Jill McLees were instrumental in putting together a wonderful programme for the day and each led a small group in debating activities. This was a fantastic experience for everyone involved. Many thanks to our Primary School colleagues for supporting this project.
