Calamity Jane

A huge thank you to everyone involved with our school show Calamity Jane. Our 3 performances on 4th, 5th and 6th June were outstanding successes and our students were very well supported by fantastic audiences. Our show Musical Director Mrs Stewart and Director, Mrs Campbell have worked so hard with their staff and student teams throughout the session and were rewarded with excellent performances from everyone who took part.

P7 Roadshow

On Tuesday 10th June all of our new S1 pupils and their parents took part in our Transition Roadshow here at the Academy. The evening, which was a great success, gave parents and pupils the opportunity to take part in a range of presentations led by Mr Johnston, Depute Head Teacher, and meet with our Pupil Support team who have been working with the P7 pupils throughout the session, helping them to prepare for their move to the Academy in August. Our two day P7 visits followed the Roadshow and on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th June, the P7 pupils followed their new timetables and met their new classmates and teachers. The pupils were supported throughout the visit by our newly appointed School Captains and Prefects. The visit was a great success and the pupils are now eagerly awaiting their next Academy event which will be the Summer School which will take place during the first week of the holidays. Further information about the Summer School can be obtained from Mrs Ford or Ms Macbean here at the school.

Eco Bagpack

A big thank you to all pupils and staff who helped out with the bagpack on the 31st – your great efforts between 10.00am and 3pm raised a total of £860.62.

Home School Partnership Office Volunteering Opportunities

Thank you very much to all the Young People who put their name forward for the volunteering opportunities that are available over the summer in Bellshill Academy, Bellshill Library and Bellshill Youth Work Team. Our Partnership Officers are very impressed with the large numbers of young people willing to give up their own time to make a difference to help others.
