Battle of the Somme Evening

Bellshill Academy senior pupils are hosting a Battle of the Somme commemorative evening on Thursday 17th November at 7pm in the assembly hall, in conjunction with Culture NL and the Imperial War Museum. This will highlight a local born piper, John Cleland Richardson, who was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery during this battle.

The evening will include a screening of the silent film “Battle of the Somme” from UNESCO’s “Memory of the World” register along with performances and presentations by our senior pupils, including Bellshill Academy’s very own pipe band!

Entry is free, but donations are welcome – any money raised will go to Poppy Scotland, who will be there on the night.
Please come along and support our senior pupils and this very worthy cause.
