iPad Presentation – Dynamic Earth

A group of S3 pupils took part in a National Information Technology Conference at Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, on Wednesday 18th September. The pupils, Abby Cairney, Fraser Foye, Robyn Gardiner, Aaron Clark, Cara Jackson, Scott Mitchell and Georgea Speedie were accompanied by Mrs Munro and Mr Davidson. The pupils who were an absolute credit to the school, delivered a multi-media presentation to a large audience of IT Senior Managers and Government officials highlighting the fantastic work they have been doing using iPads to support their learning. The pupils will deliver a similar presentation next week at the Scottish Learning Festival in the SECC.

They are hosting a fund raising Talent Show Thursday 10th October at 7. Tickets will go on sale in the school in October. Please attend the show and help them raise funds for this worthy cause.

Raffle for Malawi

To support the senior pupils raising money for Malawi, a raffle will take place before October week break. Prizes such as vouchers and gifts may be left in the Partnership Office or in the Art department. 4XL will be selling tickets the week prior to the draw. Thank you in advance.

Refresh

Our Refresh Club for pupils in S1 and S2 has resumed and will take place during Thursday lunchtime, from 1.10 in Miss Mitchell’s room. Many thanks to our Chaplaincy team for once again supporting our club.

Football Club

Two of of our pupils, Lewis Newton (right) & Luc Zadok (left) had a fantastic opportunity to attend an all-day coaching session organsied by Inspire Sport and top La Liga side Valencia FC at Petershill Junior’s Park in Glasgow. The coaches worked on fitness, warm up routines and training drills before putting the pupils through their paces with a 7-a-side tournament. Teachers were also given tips on how to best prepare their teams for matches and preparing training sessions. The pupils who were excellent ambassadors for the school, learned a great deal and hopefully this will be of benefit to them for the season ahead.
