Refurbishment of our new Learning Hub
We are delighted to let parents and carers know about the development of a new Learning Hub and Support Base within the Academy. This area has been developed to enable us to provide a more extensive range of support services for our pupils. The pupils have been very involved in working with Mrs Boslem, Principal Teacher of Support for Learning and Mrs Lennox, Acting Principal Teacher of Support for Behaviour, to design the layout of the base. Initial feedback from pupils, staff and parents who have had the opportunity to use the Base has been very positive. (some S1 pupils enjoying the new surroundings)

Senior Film Club
The senior Film Club had its first meeting on Thursday 16th January after school with a screening of creepy Spanish horror The Orphanage (as voted for by pupils in S5 and S6). The students who came along had a great time.
Every week we will bring our seniors great films, many of which you won’t even have heard of, let alone seen (although we will make sure that there are a few blockbusters mixed in too). If anyone has any questions, please see Mr Scott, Principal Teacher of English, in the English Department.
Debating Club
The Debating Club has started again this year and the first debate took place on Monday 13th January at lunch time in the new Support Base. This has proved to be a
very popular club and Mrs Drummond, Support for Learning teacher, is already planning for our next competition. All pupils are welcome tocome along to participate in the debates each Monday or to just listen to our more experienced debators.
